Welcome to the Tall Club of Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley's premier Social Club for men 6'2" or taller and women 5'10" or taller. Welcome to the Tall Club of Silicon Valley where we stand heads above the rest. TCSV exists to promote an exchange of friendship, information and ideas between persons of comparable height. The club encourages the comradeship of its members through activities and social events, so as to better instill self-confidence and a positive outlook on the advantages of being tall. In so doing, we sure have a lot of fun! The Tall Club of Silicon Valley is a non-profit organization and a member of Tall Clubs International. TCI is a confederation of over 50 social clubs for tall people throughout the United States and Canada. Tall Club of Silicon Valley is a member in good standing and officially affiliated with Tall Clubs International, Inc. |
About the Tall Club of Silicon Valley
Tall Club of Silicon Valley (TCSV) was founded in 1980 by Bob and Judy Hirsch as a nonprofit social organization devoted to bringing together people of above average stature. We are a member of Tall Clubs International (TCI), founded in 1938 by Kay Sumner Einfeldt. TCI has over 50 clubs with several thousand members. Tall Club of Silicon Valley sponsors a wide variety of events each month. Some of our activities include house parties, happy hours, dances, dine outs, biking, hiking, concerts, movies, you name it. We are an adventurous group and always looking for new activities for our social calendar. Club Royalty Each year we select a Queen to represent our club both locally and at the annual Tall Clubs International Convention where tall club queens from both the US and Canada compete in a pageant for the title of Miss Tall International. A Mr. Tall Silicon Valley is also selected and together with Miss Tall Silicon Valley promote tall awareness and TCSV. Scholarship Tall Club of Silicon Valley selects a high school senior from Santa Clara County each year to be the recipient of a scholarship to be used for educational purposes. The winner of the TCSV scholarship is then entered to compete for scholarships awarded by Tall Clubs International. For more information, contact scholarship8@tcsv.org . Marfan The Tall Club of Silicon Valley also contributes to Marfan research in hopes of curing this illness common among tall people. Marfan Syndrome is a condition that affects connective tissue. Because connective tissue is found throughout the body, Marfan Syndrome can affect many body systems, including the skeleton, eyes, heart and blood vessels, nervous system, skin and lungs. Marfan Syndrome affects the long bones of the body, and thus is often found in taller people. |
Membership
Anyone at least 21 years of age may join if they meet the height requirements. Women must be at least 5' 10" tall, and men must be at least 6' 2". (Measurements are taken in stocking feet.) However, if you are a spouse of a regular member, you may still be an associate member if you don't meet the height requirement. TCSV members range in age from their 20’s to 70’s. While the majority of our members are single men and women, we do have several married couples. All of our members are interested in meeting and socializing with other tall people. Talls considering membership are referred to as prospective members or, fondly, as “prospects”. You are always welcome to our events as a prospective member until you decide to join and are voted in as a member. It costs nothing to just come check us out! Membership Requirements
Members Transferring From Another TCI Club A member in good standing with another TCI affiliated tall club may apply to Tall Club of Silicon Valley simply by contacting TCSV’s Membership Director and forwarding a letter of recommendation from the other club on that club's letterhead. Height measurement is not necessary in these cases. To receive a complimentary newsletter, for membership information and questions, contactmembership8@tcsv.org . |
