I came across this website today. It's great. My son Brenden is only 13 yrs old & 7ft 3in tall. He has very decreased mobility in his joints. I want to cry every time someone asks "do you play basketball?-you could make millions" He loves football but can't play competively. This site is great for him to be able read about others who deal with the same issues as he. To bad you have to be a certain age to join the club.

I am 5'11" and my husband is 6'6". Our son is tall but our daughter is extremely tall. At birth she was 23" long and she is only a year old and is in the 96 percentile for height. I have a feeling she will be over six feet when she stops growing. I am cherishing being able to hold her while I can because I have a feeling she will be too big to lift sooner rather than later. Maybe I should get a sponsorship from Payless Shoes now. :-)

I found out about this association from a television show last night. It is great to know there is a "club" for people of our stature. I am on the "short" side, funny to finally be able to say that. I am 5'10". My father was 6'4" and my mom is 5'9". I was brought up with the fact that tall is graceful. I am 48 years old and always had no problem with wearing 4" heels when going out. I went to a fund raiser dinner last year and had a hard time finding a dress. I had decided to wear black leather pants and a red angora sweater, if I couldn't find a dress. A coworker stated that "I would stick out like a sore thumb" if I did that, and I returned with I always stick out when I get dressed, at 6'2" how can I not. Everyone have a great holiday. Enjoy, Pattie

I've read some of the comments, and as a girl at 18 years old and 5' 11" I feel your pain. <3 As it is, though, I've always found more that I like than dislike about being tall. I never need a stepstool at work. I can spot people in a crowd. I have long legs. I can justify calling most of my friends short, and yes, the weather up here is better than yours. Best of all, I can look guys in the eye. Turns out you get a lot more guy friends when you're on the level ^___^ So, yeah. Some stuff isn't so great... but it's life. There're tradeoffs. I like not craning (too much!) to kiss my 6'4" boyfriend. By the way... why no -real- Virginia tall clubs? And none in North Carolina, either? How's a tall gal from the Beach to find one?

I just had to share this story because I think it's really funny and I enjoy telling my friends. I'm 19 now and my parents met in (I think) 1986 when my mom was a member of the Portland Skyliners and my dad was a member of the Seattle Tip Toppers. My mom is 5'11" and my dad is 6'4". The two clubs were having a combined event and my mom hid behind my dad so they'd stop refilling her champagne glass and they started talking. They were engaged 6 weeks later and married a year after that and they celebrate their 21st anniversary this summer. So I should probably thank the Tall Club for bringing my parents together! The irony of the story is that I am only 5'9", so I'm an inch short of qualifying for the club!

Anyway, I just fell across this site when I was bored and I felt like I should share my story. Yay for tall people!

I'm 6 foot 9 or 10 inches tall (I've stoped keeping track) and I'm only 18. Everyone tells me to be proud of my height but I really don't care being this tall. I sadly think I'm still growing. Even though I'm young I still suffer from back aches. School is rough not just because of the kids but sitting. there's never enough room for me in the chairs or on the bus. the roof on the bus comes up to sholders. I'm encourag others who are sick of hearing the same questions over and over again about me playing basketball or if my parents are tall or how tall I am ect., so i made a shirt that responds to all of their question so they'll leave me alone (sadly now i'm stopped so they can read the shirt, seems there's no way to win) and on the back it says "so stop asking me!" just my friendly passive agressive way to say eff off. I have two sisters both are 6'0" and the shortest is my mom at 5'10". we live in a smallish town so we're a bit famous and know strictly as "the tall family" with me being the tallest, yet youngest. I wish I could be seen by others as more than just an obnoxiously tall person and know for the person I actaully am.

7ft. tall,180Lbs.I cannot go anywhere without several people asking me, Do you play basketball? What is your inseam? How's the weather up there? What size shoe is that? You could ski on those babies. I do not go to Wal-Mart any more, because of all the questions I have to answer just to buy my underwear, which thank god in the underwear department, one size fits all. Being 7ft. in a group of small towns makes you somewhat of a celebrity/freak to most people,(who think you are also deaf), but "There will always be people facinated by height as long as there is short people".I think this club is great. Maybe someday I will join it. Be tall and be proud. Too Tall Ball

I'm 38 yrs. old & 6ft. 2in. tall. I have 2 teenage sons from a previous marriage, both have inherited my height. My oldest son, age 17 1/2, is 6ft. 2in. & his younger brother, age 15 1/2, is following close behind at 6ft. I'm the youngest of 6 children & the tallest. In my younger yrs. I struggled with being so much taller than my peers & being accepted in society. It's nice to find a place where I'm not alone & where others, like myself, who understand the trials, tribulations & of course, the advantages of being tall.

This is awesome! Finally a place to fit in. I'm 17 at 6ft7 or 6ft8. I love getting the stares from people, and being able to see over the crowd in the hall at school is nice sometimes. Me and my girlfriend get a lot of stares when we're together since she is only 4ft10! I do know that my father was around 6ft2 at the age of 16, and grew to 6ft8 at the age of 21. I happen to be 6ft6 at the age of 16 so I might be around 6ft10 or 7ft when I'm done growing (since clothes aren't hard enough to find as it is).

Hello, I am 5'6" so I am not tall, but my girlfriend Alexis is 6'2". I am 30 years old and she is 22, we met two years ago when she came to London to start studies at the London School of Economics. Alexis is from Greece and she was a professional volleyball player for 3 years and also a model for one year in Milano and Paris! I am from Salerno, Italy (near Naples) and I'm a chef at a famous London restaurant, I cook Italian gourmet food. Someday when my darling Alexis and I are married, she will be a great economist and financial analyst, and I will be her househusband! I can already cook!

I WAS VERY EXCITED TO SEE THIS SITE. MY DAUGHTER WAS EXTREMLY EXCITED WHEN SHE TURNED ON HER COMP AND SAW THE TOP TEN WEIRDEST SCHOLARSHIPS ON HER FRONT PAGE. SHE JUST TURNED 15 ON JUNE 6,07 AND IS ALREADY 6'1 AND SHE WEIGHS LIKE 165, SHE THINKS SHE IS FAT, HOWEVER SHE IS NOT,SHE DOES HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SEXY SHAPED LEGS. I HAVE ALWAYS MADE SURE THAT SHE HAD GOOD POSTURE AND STOOD UP STRAIGHT WHICH WAS REALLY HARD WHEN SHE WAS IN FIRST GRADE AND LOOKED LIKE A 3RD GRADER I ALWAYS TOLD HER TO BE PROUD OF HER HIGHT BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF WOMEN WHO WOULD LOVE TO BE IN HER PLACE. I AM ONLY 5'7 BUT HER FATHER IS 6'7. HE DID NOT REACH THAT UNTIL HE WAS ALMOST TWENTY. WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER HE HATED IT PEOPLE ALWAYS ASK IF HE PLAYED B BALL. THEY DO MY DAUGHTER THE SAME WAY. I DECIDED TO CHECK OUT THE WEB SITE BEFORE I SENT MY DAUGHTER TO IT. I THINK ITS GREAT.I READ A FEW COMMENTS. DECIDED TO WRITE FIRST THEN SEND HER THE ADDRESS FOR YOUR SITE. SHE WANTS TO BE A DOCTOR WHEN SHE GETS OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. I WILL NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET WHEN THE TIME COMES,AS THE COST OF COLLEGE GETS HIGHER EVERY YEAR. GREAT JOB ON THE SITE. OH YEA MY SON IS 21 AND HE IS 6'2 AND 290. HE IS STARTING SCHOOL IN THE FALL.
