Mad Town Talls is the affiliate of Tall Clubs International located in and around Madison, Wisconsin

Activities

We'll try anything.

Among our favorite activities are dancing, Friday fish fries, parties, attending concerts, camping, socializing with other tall clubs, getting tattoos, dusting refrigerator tops.

November 15 – Pizza Party

2pm - 6pm – Vic & Kathy’s home1108 Riverview Dr, Stoughton

Directions: Hwy 51 into Stoughton, left/north on Van Buren St (when 138 goes right, turn left), go 5 blocks on Van Buren and turn left/west on Roosevelt St. Next right/north on Riverview

Bring your favorite pizza and beverage and join your tall friends for a fun-filled afternoon.

 

November 28 – Annual Day After Thanksgiving Feast

6pm – Famous Dave’s, 900 S Park St (608) 286-9400

Nothing is more different than turkey & dressing than ribs!  Your diet is already blown, so join us!! Group decision as to activity to follow dinner. Movie? Music? Comedy? Shopping? (just kidding…)

December 13 – Concert at the Basilica of St. Josaphat
8pm – 2333 S 6th St, Milwaukee

Concord Chamber Orchestra with the world’s tallest violinist, Dave R., will serenade us with the theme of Earth-Air-Water-Fire. Ticket prices vary; front seats are $15/$10 for seniors. Event will likely sell out. Tickets can be ordered through Dave at (414)962-1685 or at www.concordorchestra.org  After-concert food & drinks destination to be decided by the group.

 

December 20 – Mad Town Talls Christmas Party

6pm – Club House at Junction Ridge Apartments

8406 Isaac Dr (same location as last year’s Christmas Party at “Donna’s Club

House”) Directions: Beltline, exit at Mineral Point, left/west on Mineral Pt, right/north on Junction Rd, left/west on Isaac Dr (directly across from main entrance to Target).  Last driveway on right. Clubhouse is a small building on right (608) 833-3389

Pot luck - Kitchen has refrigerator, microwave, & several outlets for “warming dishes” – no stove/oven. Bring your own beverage. Dave J will spin tunes for us again!

Gift exchange: NO COST! Each person, not couple, bring a wrapped treasure from home, that you are ready to share with someone else. It can be funny, useful, decorative, or just something you are glad to see go.  Everyone receives a gift!

 

December 31 – New Year’s Eve

6pm – Outback Steakhouse - 4520 East Towne Blvd (608) 241-0851

Directions: I 90-94 West, Exit Madison Hwy 151 and follow 135a, left lane on

151/East Washington, 1st left East Springs Dr, 1st right East Towne Blvd, right side

8pm – Bowl A Vard Lanes - 2121 East Springs Dr (608) 244-7245

Directions: East Springs Dr off E. Washington between Pizza Hut and M&I Bank,

closest road to I 90-94 before East Towne. Turn left into “Goodwill” driveway –

immediate right into parking lot of Arena Sports Bar & Grill & Bowl A Vard – 40 lanes

Open Bowling, Pool Tables or just get a good table for dancing. 

9:30pm – Midlife Crisis Band – The Arena Room, adjoining Bowl A Vard

Wis #1 Party Band since 1998 (50’s & 60’s) – Hats/favors, balloon drop, champagne toast at midnight, food available off menu all night. It’s a BIG Party! Happy New Year!

Group photos from Chicago weekends:

  • In 1998, we sent some birds to Chicago and won best group costume.

·         In 1999, MadTown Talls repeated again.  See the Smurfs.

·         In 2000, again as The Green Bay Packers.

·         In 2001, again as Keystone Cops

·         In 2002, again as the Mad Cows

·         In 2003 we won the best group costume in Chicago with the Burma Shave signs. 

·         In 2004, again as Oscar Meyers wieners

·         In 2005, again as GODs R US

·         In 2006, the streak was over.  Oh well, we’ll start a new streak next year.

·         In 2007, we got back on the winning track as Elvis impersonators #2
