Game Night at the Lucky Labrador

Time: 7:00 p.m.
Where:  Lucky Labrador Brewing Co. • 503-236-3555
915 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, OR 97214

Older Kids OK!
Sponsor: Sharon and Jordan

Info: Sharon discovered this group through MeetUp.com. She says, “They meet in various locations throughout the month with the Lucky Lab location being so popular that they now meet there every Thursday. I thought this games night would be a great venue to try out new games and if you like one, then go out and purchase it. Who knows, we might meet some tall game players and recruit them while we’re there! Although mostly adults partici pate, responsible kids may participate, also. Newcomers should not be shy about approaching people already playing a game. They'll be happy to tell you a little about the game they’re playing and how much longer their game will last in case you want to join the next round. They play board games and card games at these events. They tend to focus on family strategy games (a.k.a eurogames). Recently they've played Settlers of Catan, Carcasonne, Zooloretto, Incan Gold, Hollywood Blockbuster, Race for the Galaxy, etc. If you have a favorite game you'd like to play, bring it with you. When Jordan and I went, we played Carcasonne and ended up buying the game for ourselves. The Lucky Lab serves a wide variety of beers, sandwiches, and snacks with many vegetarian options. The inside is non-smoking. Sometimes they are in the party room and sometimes the big room. Just watch for people playing games! An optional donation of $1 is suggested to help pay this group’s fees to be a part of MeetUp.com.

Directions: The Lucky Lab is located in a business and warehouse area in close-in
Southeast Portland. From the Hawthorne Bridge, go east on Hawthorne Blvd. Or from MLK, turn left at the Hawthorne Bridge onto Hawthorne. Or from Grand Ave, turn right onto Hawthorne Blvd. The Lucky Lab is on the left at  approximately 9th and Hawthorne.  You can park on the street or drive around the block to their parking lot on the Madison Street side of the pub.  You can enter the pub from both Hawthorne and Morrison.
