Each month we plan a variety of events. These may include dining out, attending sports events, concerts, picnics, house parties hosted by members & prospects, going to museums, meeting at night clubs and pubs and much more. Although you do have to meet the clubs requirements to be a member, most of our events are open to the public. We have also been active in volunteering at various functions around town including Cincinnati Zoo Special Events, Clovernook Center for The Blind, Cystic Fibrosis Sports Challenge, MS Walk, National Marfan Foundation, St. Rita's Festival, Taste of Cincinnati, WCET Action Auction and Q102's Party at the Point. We also occasionally host a "Weekend" get together, which is attended by TCI members from around the country and the world. Previously, we have hosted the National TCI Convention in 1966 and Pre Convention in 1999. Many of our members have found lifelong friends, spouses and partners through being a member! Though we are primarily a singles organization, married couples are fully welcome! We just enjoy getting together with a group of people like us. |

The club was founded in 1953, being sponsored by the Dayton Altitudians Tall Club and the Sky-High Club of Indianapolis (both unfortunately are no longer in existence). The founding members were Rena Mader and Frank Glennan, who both worked for the Civil Air Patrol at Lunken Airport. The High C's joined TCI as a full fledged member club at the 1956 TCI Convention in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1962, the High C's were registered as a nonprofit corporation by the State of Ohio. Through the years, the club has met at a variety of locations: Eastside, Westside (the former Mt. Airy Savings and Loan on Colerain) and Roselawn (at the former Star Bank branch). As a part of the TCI National Convention, a representative for TCI, known as Miss Tall Clubs International is selected. We are proud to have had two of our members, Shirley Thaxton and Toni Mals, wins this title in 1958 and 1972 respectively. Miss TI is used to promote and generate publicity for both her local club and TCI. |
