The Skyscraper Club of Cleveland is a member of TCI (Tall Clubs International)
an organization of more than 65 established TALL Clubs, throughout
the U.S., Canada & Europe. Through membership in a local club,
you can come into contact with over 3,000 tall people. How? You
can attend your local club's activities and most have an annual
weekend event. You can also travel to different cities to attend
their weekends, or attend the annual Tall Clubs International Convention. By joining a tall club, you'll experience the fun & excitement
of being part of a very special organization and make friendships
to last a lifetime.
Our History
The Skyscraper Club of Cleveland was established in
1946 to unite and organize tall men and women for the cultivation
of friends and common interests, and to sponsor activities for
promotion of cultural and social improvements for TALL people....
in other words, to have fun! While our activities are open to
all--regardless of height-- our purpose is to have fun through
social events and interaction with other tall people throughout
the Greater Cleveland area and in other cities in the U.S., Canada,
Europe & the UK.
In 1987, Tall Clubs
International (TCI) adopted
The Marfan Syndome as its
national charity, and since 1988, TCI has been in the top category
of donations for research to advance the awareness of The Marfan
Syndrome across the U.S. & Canada, as well as the advancement
toward a cure. We often support this cause in Cleveland.
Our Purpose
Activities are the lifeblood of the Skyscraper Club.
Therefore, a wide range of activities, based on type, cost and
location, comprise the social calendar. These activities range
from very informal get-togethers at bars, restaurants or members'
homes, to semi-formal dances, camping, weekends away, or week-long
events. Charitable and community activities are also included.
Some typical activities include:
brunches , dinners, road rallies, picnics, movies,
walleyball, putt-putt, volleyball, winter picnics, camping, theme
parties, bowling, hayrides, Pub crawls, Happy Hours, Super Bowl
parties, swim parties, Cedar Point & Geauga Lake outings,
Blossom concerts, Flats events, Sports events with the Indians,
Cavs, etc.
