Tall Club
of Rochester - Schedule of Events:
March, April 2010
Take a break from the "Snow hurricane" and think about
some great TCR events in March and April!
On Friday night March 12, help TCR celebrate Jerry Gooze's and Bill
Moehle's birthdays at PF Changs in Eastview Mall. Meet at the bar for
some of those umbrella drinks...or maybe a nice Tsing Tao beer.
Reservations are a must...make em today!
Friday March 19-Sunday March 21 is the Detroit Tip Toppers BeaTALLmania
Weekend. We do have a car pool driving to Detroit...but its not too
late to join us. This is one of the very best weekends in Tall-land,
and its a wonderful first weekend for anyone that has never been. Get
in touch with me for more info right away.
Friday March 26, we will meet at Carrabba's Italian Grill, 3340 West
Henrietta Road in Henrietta, for a great Italian meal. Meet at 6:30
pm. As always, please RSVP so we know how big a table to reserve.
Free glass of wine to the first person who RSVPs that hasn't been to a TCR
event yet this year!
Moving into April...and into Spring...
April 9, Mardi Gras has come and gone, but the flavor of Louisiana is
always at the new Beale Street Cafe, without all the noise that the tight
acoustics in the original Beale Street. The new Beale Street is at
1930 Empire Blvd in Webster, near Baytowne Plaza. Try the French
Quarter Ale...made by Honeoye Falls' own Custom Brewcrafters...and let the
good times roll! RSVP today!
On April 17, Spring REALLY begins, with Rochester Red Wings Opening Day!
Opening Day is a Saturday again this year, so come on out and join me for my
FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR! We start the afternoon with a training table
lunch at the Dinosaur BBQ at 2pm. Try some ribs with a Rogue Dead Guy
Ale...delicious, but save room for a Red Osier Roast Beef sandwich at
Frontier Field when the game begins at 4pm. We will be sitting in the
upper box seats...still a bargain at only $9! RSVP on this...we will
have a good turnout for this event
April 23-25 is the Paramount Tall Club of Chicago Weekend...Tall-zan of
the Jungle. Interested in going? Let me know!
And...its not too early to make your plans for the 2010 Tall Club
International Convention "Tall-uns in Naw-lins" and special
Habitat for Humanity Pre-Convention in New Orleans, June 22-June 30.
For three days, tall club members will be working with New Orleans Habitat
for Humanity, continuing the work of rebuilding New Orleans. After
that, its TCI Convention, with all the special events, like the Miss Tall
International Pageant, plus some special treats that only happen in New
Orleans. Remember, in 2010, "Say YES to N.O." and sign up
for the Tall Club International Convention today!
Stay warm and I'll see you along the tall trails...
Bill Moehle, President, Tall Club of Rochester
As most of you know, as members of a Tall Club International member club,
you are entitled to attend weekend events held by other TCI Clubs and the
TCI Annual Convention. Weekends are a great way to meet tall folks
from other parts of the country...those of us that have been going to
weekends for years have made many close friends for life. Even if you
don't meet your soul mate, you will dance more than you have danced in a
long time...sightsee in a new city...and have lots of laughs! One of
our favorite weekends is in Detroit. This year, the Detroit Tip
Toppers will be hosting BeaTALLmania, March 19-21.
Attached is a link to their weekend flier. Several of us will be
driving to Detroit, so get in touch with me if you are interested in a car
pool.
The TCI Convention and Pre-Convention are annual events, held during the
summer, in a different city each year. Last year Convention was in
Vegas, the year before that, Long Beach California, and going back to 2004,
it was right down the road in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In 2010, the TCI
Convention and Pre-Convention will be in New Orleans, June 24-30, with
Pre-Convention June 21-24. Pre-Convention will focus on the continued
effort to rebuild New Orleans, by working with Habitat for Humanity during
the days. What a great way to have fun by doing good! Here is a
link to the flier for Convention Please note that the price of
Convention will increase soon, so if you plan on going, get your deposit in
right away!

Many of you have already joined our
MySpace Group. We're now experiencing a great expansion in FaceBook.
It's very easy to join and navigate. For those that haven't yet, or are new,
please join the group by clicking through the above links.
The bigger
the group is, the more interest it will have for other tall folks in the
area. The more tall
members we have, the more fun we have, and the more members we get and the
more fun we have...etc...
You get the picture...as I like to say, lets
have more fun than ought to be legal!
