Sage Advice…
"Peppery Prose from the Prez"

Here we are in Autumn, a time of change from one season to another. How great it is to live in New England! So much variety to spice up our lives. There are the joys of the major cities, the country, the ocean, and the mountains all within a couple hours to a day's ride.

We have sister clubs in Tall Clubs International also within a day's ride and it's good to visit with them from time to time. Our clubs are social clubs that work with our members' input. The membership drives where and what our clubs do. Be it a night out on the town, a service project benefiting the hungry and less fortunate, or celebrating the joy and diversity of the holidays.

Our club is what you make of it and what you put into it. We are always open to new ideas for things to do and places to go. We are open to those who would like to assist or lead in club functions or projects. The volunteer spirit and social character are alive if dormant within each of us.

Soon we will be having elections for club officers and a core of members have been dutifully volunteering their talents and efforts for a long time. They have been trying on each office in turn and doing a wonderful job for all of us. It is time that we have some newer members or less active members step up to help in leading and organizing the club. A time to teach the new and a time for some to rest a bit to return to the fray refreshed after the break. Everyone who has stepped up has done outstanding and worthwhile jobs.

These recent times have been tough in our region. Tougher for some than others. Social organizations like ours help forge bonds that help us all get through these times. With social outlets and contacts. Friends you can count on when the chips are up or down. You can change jobs but if you make a friends for life you have a thread, a line of safety, in the rough economic seas.

I invite you all to share you talents, your ideas and thoughts, your levity and a bit of your time. Join us and enrich us with what is you and your world.

With high hopes
Kevin
