in your window.
If you are using a different operating system or version of Windows and these detailed
steps don't exactly match you need to do, please email the steps you needed to perform in
order to make your snapshot to the
.
Windows 98 and XP
- Make sure the page in question is the active window.
(Maximizing the window will put more content into the snapshot.)
- If testing cursor sensitive action, move the mouse over the desired object.
Note: the mouse may not appear in the image, but mention where the mouse was when you
took the snapshot.
- Press the "Alt" and "Prt Scr" keys at the same time.
This creates a copy of the active window on the system clipboard.
If the "Alt" key is not pressed along with the "Prt Scr" key, you get an image
of all visible windows which makes your snapshot a little bigger than necessary,
but is not a problem.
You have just taken the snapshot. Now to "develop" it —
- Open the Windows Clipboard viewer by selecting the Windows "Start" button, then select "Run" from the menu.
Now type CLIPBRD in the Run dialog box.
The clipboard viewer will open and it should already have the image of the window you took the snapshot of displayed in its window.
(If it doesn't, it is because something else was placed on the clipboard between
the time you took the snapshot or you your viewer is looking at a previously
saved clipboard image and you need to show the active image.)
- Click "File", "Save As..." to open the file save dialog.
- Name the file whatever you like and note the directory (folder) where it is being stored.
- Attach the file you just saved to an email message and send it to the Webmaster!
