The first tall club was founded in Los Angeles, California in May, 1938 by Kae Sumner (later Kae Sumner Einfeldt). Her vision was to attract like minded people together. The group established the world's highest society, the California Tip Toppers Club, with a goal of providing a social outlet for tall people. World War II intervened, but in 1947, the first Tall Club Convention was held in Los Angeles. Fourteen U.S. clubs and one Canadian Club organized as the American Affiliation of Tall Clubs in 1948. When the Affiliation incorporated in 1967, the name was changed to Tall Clubs International. The Diamond Valley Lake Tall Club has been a proud member of Tall Clubs International since 2003. The Tall Club of Diamond Valley Lake was founded in October 2003 when the founder, Bridget Gerber, placed an ad in a Hemet publication, and ran for Ms. Diamond Valley Lake, She was first runner up in the city, and is better known as the first Ms Tall Diamond Lake 2004. The club was approved into Tall Club International at the Niagara Falls convention in July 2004. The D.V.L. Tall Club had 18 members at the time. We received highest increase by number and by percentage by the end of 2004, and also in 2005, and 2006. At present, we have 40 members. Our members are from all ages and extend from the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, with others in Bakersfield, Mojave and California City. Within each Club, a queen is nominated to represent the local club for a year, and can go on to become Miss Tall International.
